Surf Club Membership and Active Patrolling Members At the completion of the formal qualification training, students are encouraged to consider joining a surf club to contribute to the community and to use their newly learnt skills. The Academy of Surf facilitates the process and pathway for any student that wishes to join the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Club at Currumbin Beach. We currently have a number of past students patrolling members of Currumbin and loving each and every patrol and function that they attend. Once part of the surf club, a number of these students have continued their Surf Life Saving training, become qualified IRB Crew Members, IRB Drivers, ARC certificate holders, Defib operators plus much much more! |

Jamo's Learn to Surf and Surf Education Program is an excellent activity for school children. Our group of teenage boys were fully engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Jamo developed an instant rapport with the group and led the boys through sequential and safe activities for all to progress and achieve success in the surf. Jamo's staff allowed safety in the surf as well as providing regular and positive feedback to help the surfers. It was a great introduction for those who have never surfed before and for those with some experience, their skills were fine-tuned to allow further progress. Coupled with the Surf Rescue program, the camp was full of variety with theory and practical sessions. And best of all, the boys were keen to go to sleep at night!! Thanks Jamo for a fun and enjoyable week. We would fully recommend the "Walkin on Water" and the Academy’s surf programs to any school John AndersonDirector of Sport & Activities

Walkin on Water and the Academy provided a fantastic, sequential surf skills development program for the Yr 11 students who nominated to go on "Surf Camp". Jamo and his staff were thoroughly professional and organised. Their enthusiasm for surfing and the ocean shone through in the delivery of the course content, which the students found motivating whilst providing them with a sound surf awareness base.
Walkin on Water also introduced surfing to our Year 8 students. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we found the staff to be inspirational and safety conscious. This company is highly recommended

Hey Jamo I just wanted to thank you for all of your wonderful efforts that you put in with our school group. The kids loved every minute. The weather was not that crash hot but the positive attitude from yourself and the other trainers made for some cracker sessions. The kids were able to learn heaps and now are pressuring both Janet and myself to take them surfing every weekend (thanks a lot!!!!). All of the Surf Life Saving elements that you taught to the kids was very thorough and you now have 8 extra members at your club. The girls can’t stop talking about how much fun they are having. Keep up the fantastic work and I’m sure we’ll see you next year with another bunch of super keen surfers. Trent and Janet Hillbrook Anglican School |

All POSITIVE, you & your staff are fantastic with the kids, the proof of your program I think lies with the student experience & they (& I) had a FANTASTIC time. I have had so much positive feedback from parents as well so that is always a good sign. We will certainly try to make this a regular term 4 sport.
